Dr Brett Quayle
As a registered psychologist, I specialise in helping gay men navigate anxiety, drawing on a unique perspective shaped by my doctoral training. I hold a PhD and a Masters in Organisational Psychology, which gives me a deeper understanding of the systems and pressures that can fuel anxiety and perfectionism - whether it’s at work, in relationships, or within the community. This specialised expertise allows me to help you not only manage your anxiety but also build the resilience to thrive in all areas of your life.
I believe that therapy is a collaborative journey, and my role is to provide you with the tools and support you need to feel more in control of your life. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), where I offer a Strengths based approach.
My passion for this work stems from a deep understanding of the unique pressures and anxieties we face. I’ve seen first-hand how perfectionism, the pressure to fit in, and a constant search for validation can impact mental well-being. My practice is built on the principle of providing an affirming and judgement-free space where you can explore these challenges, unlearn old beliefs, and build a life that feels authentic to you.
I’m committed to helping you feel heard and understood. Outside of my work, I find balance in exercise, art, cooking, and travel. I believe that self-compassion is a powerful tool, and I’m dedicated to helping you discover that for yourself.
If you’re ready to take the first step, I invite you to schedule a consultation. Let’s talk about what’s on your mind and see how we can work together to find a path forward.
